When you share the proof with another person via the Share Menu, that user will receive an email notification inviting them to the review with any custom message you include.
When you @mention another person in a comment, that user will also receive an email notification that includes the comment, inviting them to the proof if they are not already an active reviewer. If they are an active reviewer that has not yet submitted an approval status, they will then be required to do so. If they have already submitted an approval status, they will need to resubmit their status.
If you invite new reviewers to the proof they will receive an email requiring them to review the proof and submit an approval status. The user will also receive an in-app notification. The proof owner will receive an email notification each time a new user is invited to review the proof.
@Mentioning will only work when the Proof Uploader has 'Allowed reviewer forwarding' in the Proof Release Options.
@Mentioning and Sharing a proof requires the new user mentioned to submit an approval status, which may delay the progression of the review. If the proof workflow is sequential, the @mentioned user will be added to the end of the workflow and will not receive an email notification or have access to the proof until it is their turn in the review. If the proof workflow is tiered, the @mentioned user will be invited at the end of the current tier.
The invited reviewer is considered optional until they open the review. If they open the review, they are then considered a required reviewer. If they do not submit their review before a tier deadline is met, this can delay a functioning workflow.
If you are in read-only mode or viewing a previous version, you will not be able to make annotations.
Yes, if the Proof Owner has 'Allowed Proof Download' in the Proof Release Options, reviewers will be able to download the original proof files in an active review and after the proof has been returned. Reviewers can enter the read-only version of the returned proof from the My Reviews tab.
